Academics (CORE)

President's Message
Dr. Priya Iyer

Chairperson

Dear Colleagues and Students,

It is my privilege to welcome you to the Clinical Oncology and Radiotherapy Education (CORE) program.

The CORE Committee was established with a clear vision to strengthen, standardize, and elevate postgraduate education in clinical oncology and radiotherapy. In an era of rapidly evolving cancer care, it is essential that our training programs remain dynamic, evidence-based, and aligned with global best practices while being sensitive to local needs and resource settings.

Our mission is to create a robust educational framework that supports postgraduate students in developing not only strong clinical acumen but also critical thinking, research skills, and a compassionate, patient-centred approach to care. Through structured workshops, innovative teaching methods, collaborative learning platforms, and mentorship initiatives, we aim to bridge gaps in training and ensure uniform excellence across institutions.

We are committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning, academic rigor, and professional integrity. The CORE Committee will actively engage with institutions across Tamilnadu to develop high-quality educational resources, organize training programs, and promote academic collaboration at regional, national, and international levels.

I encourage all stakeholders, students, faculty, and institutions to actively participate in the CORE activities. Your engagement, feedback, and collaboration are vital in shaping the future of oncology education.

Together, let us work towards building a generation of oncologists who are not only clinically competent but also empathetic leaders in cancer care.

Warm regards,
Dr. Priya Iyer
Chairperson
