Dear Colleagues,
It is a privilege and an honour to serve as President of the AROI Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Chapter. I am deeply grateful to every member for the trust placed in our team, and I look forward to this journey together.
Our chapter has long been recognised for academic rigour, collegial spirit, and a shared commitment to advancing radiation oncology. Building on this strong foundation, our vision is to create a dynamic platform that fosters learning, promotes research, strengthens professional bonds, and translates these into improved cancer care across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
In the year ahead, we will expand continuing medical education through scientific meetings, webinars, and hands-on workshops, with dedicated programmes for postgraduate training and mentorship of young oncologists. We will encourage collaborative research and facilitate meaningful dialogue across disciplines — among clinicians, physicists, radiation therapists, and allied professionals — recognising that multidisciplinary practice is the cornerstone of modern oncology.
Our specialty is evolving rapidly, shaped by advances in precision radiotherapy, artificial intelligence, and translational science. Our chapter must stay at the forefront of this evolution while championing equitable access to quality cancer care within our region.
The vitality of any association rests with its members. I invite each of you to contribute your ideas, expertise, and experience as we work together to build a stronger, more inclusive chapter.
